Let’s face it, I’ve put both of my parents through hell. But with everything that we’ve gone through, they’ve always had my back and dealt with things the best way they knew how. Without their love and support…who knows?

I’m really stoked now. Every day, I work with them at Astrodeck and we laugh, argue, and just deal with our day-to-day lives and the random people and situations that come with it. Right now is just a really great time for me. For all of us, I think. And having my kid Greyson with me is just icing on the cake.

But, anyway, I just wanted to take this time to thank my mom. Really fucking thank her. She is the glue in our family that binds us all together. She’s stronger than any of us. Despite the fact that she’s been called Walter Hoffman’s daughter or Herbie Fletcher’s wife or Christian and Nathan’s mom or Greyson’s grandma, she’s the one and only Dibi and her presence and heart are bigger than any of ours combined.

I love my mom and I’m also very lucky to have her as a friend. I hope the rest of you are fortunate enough to have that with your moms and acknowledge it.

Hello Dibi, enjoy reading your insights to all things and life in general. I’m a mom with two sons myself who are now 28 and 32 and boy, I tell ya, they’ve put me through the ringer! There were times when I just crumbled to the floor but I lived with the hope that they’d “come around” eventually and they have! Reading about you and your family has made me feel so “human” and though there are still struggles on a daily basis in my own life, I truly feel a maternal kinship with you. Dibi: Life as a Mom was certainly nothing that I ever could have imagined. Lots of heartache, loneliness, and tough times, but seems like the sun is finally starting to shine. Dibi: Guitar lessons, cello lessons, braces, reading, vision therapy, parochial school for a year…everything any parent who loves their kids would do.

Dibi: Not a clue. He has cover ups, add-ons and everything else. I just asked him and he said the one on the back of his head, done by Craig Christy from RayGun Tattoo, and then redone by Natalia from Art Machine 66 who lives in Bali.
